Miles Ahead in the Grand Cayman Islands!
May 7-16, 2010
After the festival in Jamaica, Miles Ahead was given more opportunities to minister in the Caribbean. Trinidad, St. Lucia, St Maarten and the Grand Cayman Islands expressed interest in hosting a Do Something Festival. Travel Information
It is our habit to first pray about what doors God wants us to walk through, and then begin asking for support. In the last year, God has encouraged us to start the festival planning process with partners in the Grand Cayman Islands.
During last summer, we received an official invitation from the Christian Ministers Association. This group has the support of 30 churches out of 100 on the Island. An executive team was put in place and in the last few weeks Mr. McKeeva Bush, Cayman’s Premier has shown support for the Festival.
God is certainly at work. We just received news that our venue, Grand Harbor, will be free of charge. Even more exciting is the fact that the venue hosts a world-class skate park called Black Pearl. Tony Hawk and other professional skateboarders have rated this as one of the premier world sites for skateboarding.
About the Event
Cayman leaders have expressed genuine interest in the three month Do Something Campaign that will challenge volunteers to serve and love the community. The local population has been troubled by a recent increase in crime and murders on the island. Prayer and consideration is being given to how the crime issues could potentially be addressed through the Do Something Campaign. The dates for the two-day Cayman Festival will be May 14 & 15, with a week of community service and ministry preceding that.
